Volunteering!

The Centre is actively recruiting volunteers for various positions in the Agnes Jamieson Gallery, the Minden Hills Museum, and Nature’s Place.  Some of the typical volunteer opportunities available at the Cultural Centre are as follows:

Front Desk Attendant:  Our front desk attendants welcome visitors into the Cultural Centre buildings, invite them to ask questions about current exhibits, programs or events, take phone calls and help us with front-of-house administrative tasks and gift shop sales. This is usually a two-hour commitment between 12 pm and 2 pm, Tuesday to Saturday.  Please contact Laurie Carmount, Gallery Curator at 705-286-3763.

Special Events:  Our special events volunteers help in many ways such as inspiring new ideas, assisting with exhibition openings or taking tickets at the door. Some of our special events include outdoor historical theatre, music, and Minden Festival of Trees.

Living History:  Enjoy acting? Interested in history?  Then volunteer on Saturdays in July and August to share your interest and knowledge of history with visitors. Call 286-1936 to talk to the Director of Community Services, mcoleman@mindenhills.ca if you’re interested.

Other Interests:  The museum always needs volunteers to help with research, sewing, carpentry, and data entry.

Contact the Cultural Center if you are interested in sharing your skills.  We strive to match volunteers with their interests and time availability.  Call 705-286-2808 or drop by the Centre anytime Tuesday-Saturday 10am – 5pm.  Download the volunteer information form here.
