Cross country skiing is an admired pastime at the popular Snowdon Park.

Curling can be found next to the arena and offers a league, youth programs, and camp.

Ice fish throughout the township in your own ice hut.

Ice race on our outdoor track located in the upper portion of the fairgrounds.  Maintained by the local Kin Club, the rink allows drivers to race their cars in a different, fun way.

Skate in our arena located in Minden that has its own canteen.  Times and hockey league information can be viewed by visiting the Arena page.

Snowmobiles have two trails in Minden maintained by the snowmobile association.

Snowshoe on one of our many trails.  Our board walk trail has railings to ensure that you do not veer off course.


ATVs are able to enjoy several routes available throughout the county and in Minden.  Visit www.haliburtonatv.com for information.

Baseball diamonds can be found at the Minden Fairgrounds.  The diamonds are available for rental and host a youth softball league once a week during the summer months.

Cycle your way through the scenic Haliburton Highlands.  With wide shoulders and a strong commitment to share the road, cyclists will feel safe as they travel in and outside of our towns.  Downtown Minden has bike racks to allow cyclists to take a break in our beautiful village.

Fish by using one of our many public boat launches.  Common fishes are lake, brook, and rainbow trout, bass, splake, muskellunge, whitefish, and walleye according to the county’s fishing chart.

Hiking trails and lookout points allow you to appreciate the beauty found within Minden Hills.  The difficulty level of the trail range from easy to moderate.

Hunt both large and small animals in the remote areas of the township.  Please consult the MNR for up to date information and regulations.

Kayak on our whitewater rapids if you are feeling adventurous.  As the location of the Pan Am 2015 Canoe/Kayak Slalom, this location is a popular spot for athletes and experienced paddlers.  Our many lakes and rivers are also popular for beginners and for leisure trips.

Swim in pristine water when you are in Minden Hills.  Whether you are at one of our public beaches, or live at the lakeside, swimming is the perfect way to cool off and welcome summer.
