The Township of Minden Hills is seeking monetary donations or donations of time, skills or efforts in the completion or purchase of the following items related to the SG Nesbitt Renewal Project.
These items will enrich and provide additional value to this significant and extraordinary project. Council would like to extend this opportunity for enhancement to all individuals, residents, businesses, visitors, artists, and organizations wishing to be part of this historic and exciting undertaking in Minden Hills.

March, 2020 – construction progress continues! installation of the stadium seats, basketball nets and gym divider curtain as well as masonry work in the dressing rooms and lobby. Exterior siding and stonework and ice plant and cooling tower.
Demolition Begins May 1, 2019
Demolition began on May 1st at the Minden on the Minden Community Centre and Arena. Construction fencing has been installed around the entire lower portion of the facility. We ask everyone to please respect these boundaries and posted signage, as they are in place for the workers and the public’s safety.
Anyone wishing to access the facilities or speak to a Community Services staff member, can do so via the Scout Hall entrance, located at the rear of the building (beside the lower ball diamonds parking lot).

The Time has come!
It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for, an official sneak peek of the progress made on the Minden Hills Community Centre renewal project.
We will be offering a public Open House on Tuesday, November 26th from 3:30 to 6:30 PM starting in the upper level of the Community Centre at 55 Parkside Street. The Open House will include customized walking tours and an opportunity to meet with Township Staff and representatives from the project team to view the up-to-date plans and progress on the project.
Please note that this is an active construction site with limited accessibility throughout the walking tour. Accessible viewing opportunities will be provided in the Community Centre.
All ages are welcome. The event and walk thorough are free of charge.
At the January 31, 2019 Special Meeting of Council, Council received the Validation Report from McDonald Brothers Construction Inc. and Parkin Architects Limited on the renewal of the S.G. Nesbitt Memorial Arena and Community Centre. At its February 14, 2019, Special Meeting of Council, Council accepted the validation report and approved the project to proceed as recommended by the Arena Task Force.

The Township of Minden Hills has retained McDonald Brothers Construction Inc (MBC) to act as their Design Builder to redevelop the S.G. Nesbitt Memorial Arena & Community Centre, located at 55 Parkside Street in Minden. The project includes accessibility upgrades along with the reconstruction of the arena and a parking lot restoration.
The scope of work also encompasses the expansion of the recreational complex to include a multi-use gymnasium facility with a raised walking track designed to broaden the services offered to the citizens.
The tender process will begin in April and will be rolled out in multiple scope packages to expedite field activities.
