Trent Severn Waterway – Installation of Dam Railings

Installation of Dam Railings – Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site

Over the summer of 2017, as a part of Parks Canada’s public safety program, crews will be replacing hand railings on dams at the following dam locations:

  • Municipality of Algonquin Highlands – Big Hawk Lake Dam (also known as Hawk Lake Dam)
  • Municipality of Algonquin Highlands – Halls Lake Dam
  • Municipality of Minden Hills – Little Bob Lake Dam
  • Municipality of Selwyn – Lovesick Lake Dams 1-3 (also known as Sunrise and Sunset Dams)

These dams have historically been open to the public and will remain so. The dams will be closed for short periods of time during working hours to facilitate the hand rail installation. Visitors are asked to closely follow Parks Canada staff instructions on-site during periods of installation to avoid hazard or injury.
